AUSTRALIA
Police: Report to your local police station or call Crimestoppers at 1800 333 000. You can also reach the police through 131 444.
National Anti-Scam Centre/ScamWatch: This center coordinates efforts between government, law enforcement, and the private sector to combat scams, building on the ACCC’s Scamwatch service.
ReportCyber: Report scams through their official website, which serves as a key resource for consumer and business reporting.
INDIA
The Police: Report any scams or cybercrimes at your local police station, bringing as much information as possible. For immediate assistance, call the Cyber Crime Helpline at 1930.
National Cybercrime Reporting Portal: This portal allows victims and complainants to report cyber crimes in India.
CERT-In (Indian Computer Emergency Response Team): Report all types of cyber crimes and online scams here. CERT-In handles cybersecurity threats and operations across India.
Union Home Ministry Helpline: Dial 155260 to report cybercrimes and online scams. This helpline is supported by state police and is available in seven states and union territories.
National Consumer Helpline: File complaints against businesses by calling 1800-11-4000 or 1915, or by sending an SMS to 8800001915.
IRELAND
Crime Victims Helpline: Available nationwide, this helpline offers confidential support for victims of crime. Contact them at the freephone number 116 006.
FraudSMART: An initiative by the Banking & Payments Federation Ireland (BPFI), FraudSMART works to raise awareness about the latest financial fraud activities and trends among consumers and businesses.
The Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB): Specializes in investigating complex, international, and organized crime cases related to economic offenses.
NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand Police: Report fraud by calling the non-emergency number 105 or contacting your local police station.
NetSafe: This non-profit organization provides information and support for online safety. Visit NetSafe’s website to report online scams.
Serious Fraud Office (SFO): For serious investment scams and complex financial crimes, report to the SFO, the primary law enforcement body for investigating and prosecuting major financial offenses.
Department of Internal Affairs: Forward any fraudulent emails and relevant information to [email protected].
CERT NZ: Report identity theft and phishing scams to CERT NZ, which works to combat scammers and fraudsters.
SINGAPORE
If you fall victim to a scam or receive a suspicious message or call, report it immediately to the relevant authorities.
Singapore Police Force Anti-Scam Centre (ASC): Established in 2019 to tackle online scams, the ASC investigates scam-related crimes and collaborates with over 20 stakeholders, including banks and telecommunication companies. All information is confidential.
National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC): Partnering with the ASC, the NCPC promotes public awareness and self-help in crime prevention. Contact them via the Anti-Scam Hotline at 1800-722-6688 or the ‘X Ah Long’ Hotline at 1800-924-5664.
The NCPC’s ScamAlert.sg provides scam information and received over 500,000 visitors in 2020. Additionally, the ScamShield app blocks scam calls and texts.
UK
If you fall victim to fraud or cybercrime in the UK, you can report your case to the following organizations:
ActionFraud In England, Wales, or Northern Ireland, call 0300 123 2040. In Scotland, call 101.
Citizens Advice: Report scams here, where they collect information and forward it to Trading Standards for further action.
National Trading Standards eCrime Team (NTSeT): They monitor and investigate scams and provide tips on how to avoid them.
National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC): Offers guidance on cybersecurity and handles reports of cyber-related incidents.
Financial Conduct Authority (FCA): Report scams involving financial services or investments to the FCA.
